“Hello, my name is Ross Stanton and I’m a trained proofreader, copy editor and translator. I trained with the College of Media and Publishing. I’m proud to say, I passed the course with Distinction.

“I’ve always had a fascination with words and language, and I strive to build my vocabulary daily. 20 years ago, I decided to ‘flex’ my linguistic muscles and learn Portuguese. I now speak fluently and thoroughly enjoy learning new verbs and phrases and deepening my knowledge of this amazing language!

“Learning a language has taught me the importance of being clear and concise. I focus on helping my clients present their written work in a way that can be easily understood—without compromising on quality or creativity.”

One of my recent projects involved proofreading and copy editing profile documents for an academic who works on equality rights for major organisations.

I’m also involved in the translation and copy editing of an internal business magazine for a Portuguese utility company, which it distributes to its employees in Portugal, Spain, Brazil and parts of Asia.

Coupled with the above, I have experience working on an English content project in the Arques region of France, producing clear information leaflets that describe activities in the local area. I’m a passionate freelance writer and produce content on a wide range of subjects.
